55,000 Fee Free ATMs
Great news 1A, we now have over 55,000 fee free ATMs in our network!*
Q: What is a Surcharge Fee?
A: Surcharge (also known as a convenience fee) is the fee ATM owners may charge for using their ATMs.
Q: Why did 1A add additional ATMs to the network?
A: 1A wants to offer our members more convenience so we have added 2 new ATM providers in addition to our current 85 fee free ATMs. With our new providers, Allpoint & Co-op, and our current ATMs, 1A will be able to offer our VISA check card holders more than 55,000 fee free ATMs!
Be on the look out for these logos or visit our
1A ATM Locator Search.
Q: Who can use these ATMs?
A: Anyone can use these machines, but in order for our members to receive fee free transactions they must have a 1A VISA Check card.
Q: Will 1A be replacing the VISA Check Cards so that the Allpoint & Co-Op logos are on the back with Credit Union 24, Cirrus, AFFN, and Star?
A: Yes, but we have up to 18 months to do so, we will be replacing most cards as they expire.
Q: What if the member only has an ATM card with 1A?
A: These members will not receive fee free transactions at all of the 55,000 fee free locations. They will still have free access to our 85 fee free Network Centers but will be charged a $1.00 fee for each foreign ATM transaction.
Q: Why will members now be charged for all foreign ATM transactions?
A: Since 1A now offers over 55,000 fee free ATMs all over the nation, our members will be able to take advantage of those ATMs and should not need to use the foreign ATMs.
Q: How can members find out what locations are fee free?
A:
Members can go to our 1A ATM Locator Search to find participating ATMs.
Q: How does the ATM locator work?
A: It's easy! Simply type in an address, or city/state, or zip code, and the locator will list the address of our ATMs within a certain mile range of the location.
Q: What are some of the locations added to the network?
A: Members will now be able to use the ATMs in retail stores such as all Targets, most Walgreen's, Rite Aids, Costco's, participating 7-11s etc. but to verify the ATM is fee free they should check 1A Locator.
Q: Are account balance inquiries included in the fee free network?
A: Yes, members can use their VISA check card to inquire about their account at any of these ATMs without being charged a fee.
Q: What if I am in the middle of a transaction and the ATM displays a surcharge (fee) message on the screen, will I be charged a fee?
A: All of these ATMs will automatically prompt a surcharge (fee) message, but since 1A is a part of the network, members will not be charged a fee. Members will need to select "yes" when this screen appears and continue with their transaction. When they receive their receipt, they will see that they were not assessed a surcharge.
Q: Your web site listed a certain ATM as part of your network, but when I went to use the ATM, the ATM did not have any of the network logos on the machine. Is this ATM still fee free?
A: Yes. All ATMs listed on this search tool are fee free, even if the Allpoint or Co-op logos are not on the ATM. These new networks are constantly adding new ATMs, and it may take 4-6 weeks to get the logo added onto these ATMs.
Q: Are there any limitations to how many times I can use any of these ATMs?
A: No. Members have an unlimited number of fee free transactions at these ATMs. All withdrawal limitations will remain the same based on 1A policy.
