While most financial institutions were closed for the Columbus Day holiday, 1st Advantage colleagues were hard at work assisting local non-profit organizations. This year marked our 5th annual 1st A.I.D.E Day, and we were thrilled to be able to work with four deserving organizations who offer incredible support in our local community: Lackey Free Clinic, Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters, Menchville House and Operation Homefront of Hampton Roads.

1st A.I.D.E Day 2012 Accomplishments:
• Organized and took inventory on over 1,500 patient files for the Lackey Free Clinic.
• Made 90 Surgery Bears for the children who are patients at Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters. Each bear was accompanied by a handmade “Get Well” card.
• Packaged 551 toiletry kits for Menchville House residents in need. Each kit included a hand written card with encouraging words.
• Raised over $1,600 from a Community Sale to benefit Operation Homefront of Hampton Roads.
In addition, colleagues collected almost 3,000 pounds of food for The Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula, almost doubling our collection from last year’s food drive.
