60 has never looked better! On September 20, 2011, we marked our 60th Anniversary and we couldn’t be more proud. Our membership is growing, our performance is solid and we are still able to provide members with the best products and services around.
It’s been a whirlwind celebration for 1st Advantage as we’ve marked 60 years of service to the community. On September 20th, we held an all day 60th Anniversary celebration to wish 1A a Happy Birthday. Members were able to visit any branch and take home free gifts, as well as cake. Plus, members were able to register for the 60th Anniversary Grand Prize drawing, a chance to have $60 deposited each month for 60 months into the account of their choice. We’re happy to announce that the winner of this fantastic drawing worth $3,600 is Gloria Anderson. Congrats Gloria!
On October 1st, 1A held our annual Member Appreciation BBQ. This family-fun event was packed with activities, including face painting, bounce houses, cotton candy, a money machine and music from 94.9 the Point! Plus, there was plenty of delicious food from Beach Bully BBQ for everyone to enjoy. Nearly 400 people participated in the Member Appreciation BBQ. A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who attended to celebrate their membership!
Finally, in honor of our 60th Anniversary, 1st Advantage donated $60,000 amongst six local non-profit organizations. Checks were formally presented to the organizations in the following amounts:
- Habitat for Humanity Peninsula - $9,200
- Relay for Life - $9,200
- Operation Homefront Hampton Roads - $9,200
- Boys and Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula - $9,800
- The Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula - $10,400
- Richmond Fisher House - $12, 200
