Did you know that everyday thousands of people fall victim to fraudulent emails, text messages and phone calls from scammers posing as someone from their financial institution? With 2022 being a challenging year, scammers have become relentless.
If you receive an email, text or phone call from your financial institution for any of the information below, that is a big red flag. It’s better to be safe than sorry so end the call, delete the text, and trash the email, because Financial Institutions Never Ask That! You may be asked to verify confidential information if you call your financial institution, but never the other way around. If you receive an incoming call from someone claiming to be your financial institution, hang up and call the number on the back of your card or your financial institution.
