75 Acts of Kindness

This year‑long initiative celebrates the compassion, generosity, and community spirit that define 1st Advantage and the members we proudly serve. Each Act of Kindness is designed to be small and simple—everyday gestures that create meaningful impact. Together, these moments will build something truly powerful for our community.

    1. Donated treats, collars, blankets, and toys to Heritage Humane Society.
    2. Contributed toys and candy to support Edmarc’s Spring Fling, helping bring moments of joy to children receiving pediatric hospice care and their families.
    3. Colleagues came together to donate gowns, shoes, and jewelry for Love the Tree of Life’s Prom Dress Giveaway.
    4. Organized a Musical Instrument Drive that encouraged members and colleagues to donate gently used instruments. These donations will go directly to kids in the community through Soundscapes.
    5. When a colleague needed extra support as her family member was hospitalized, the team rallied together and raised funds to help lighten the load.
    6. We donated $12,000 to An Achievable Dream, a nonprofit that partners with public school districts to co‑operate schools in under‑served communities. Their model provides added resources and support to help level the playing field and open new opportunities for students.
    7. We proudly contributed $2,500 as a sponsor of the 2026 Holiday Lights Stroll, supporting the Center for Child & Family Services and its long‑standing mission to strengthen local children and families.
    8. We were delighted to sponsor the Spring Seafood Festival, supporting the Abingdon Ruritan Club and its year‑round work to uplift the community.
    9. Celebrated National Love Your Pet Day with a member giveaway, gifting a $75 PetSmart card to one participant who shared a photo of their beloved pet.
    10. In celebration of National Read Across America Day, we made a donation to The DeGood Foundation. Our donation will provide a full year of free books to 12 local children.
    11. Responded to an urgent need at the Peninsula SPCA, with colleagues bringing in bags and cans of kitten and puppy food to support their care for young animals.
    12. We partnered with York County to sponsor a building at Safety Town, helping young children learn essential life safety skills in a fun, hands‑on environment designed just for them.
    13. We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Community Brain Injury Services, a nonprofit helping individuals rebuild independence and confidence after traumatic brain injury across Richmond and Hampton Roads.
    14. Helping the Wes Strong Foundation bring comfort and dignity to children in treatment through Warrior Pak donations.
    15. Provided a CPR and First Aid certification class for 17 colleagues, empowering them with lifesaving skills and strengthening our community’s readiness to help others.
    16. Colleagues from our Gloucester Branch generously volunteered their time to provide a warm pizza dinner for guests at the GUEST Shelter of Gloucester.
    17. Our team had the privilege of supporting Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital in Yorktown with blankets for patients and snacks to encourage and uplift the hardworking hospital staff.
    18. Provided a snack station at our Headquarters front desk as a small thank‑you to the hardworking delivery drivers who support our operations.
    19. Surprised the Nurses Station at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital with a basket of treats to brighten their day. We’re deeply thankful for all our medical professionals do.
    20. We proudly supported Peake Childhood Center as they prepare for their 24th Annual Rise & Shine Breakfast, an event that fuels essential programs for children and families across Hampton and Newport News.
    21. We delivered a basket of treats to the teachers at Saint Gregory the Great in Virginia Beach as a small way to celebrate and support the incredible work educators do every day.
    22. Surprised the residents at Bayside of Poquoson Health & Rehab with treats and thoughtful goodies. We’re grateful to the staff for sharing such wonderful ideas about what we could bring.
    23. A colleague organized a heartfelt toy drive for CHKD’s Oncology Unit, inspiring her team to donate toys, books, and art supplies to brighten hospital visits for young patients.
    24. We dropped off a goody basket for the teachers at Yorktown Elementary. It was a small gesture to remind them just how much they’re appreciated.
    25. A colleague rallied our team to raise $200 in support of Woody’s Second Chance Ranch, inspiring us all with her passion for these beautiful rescue horses.
    26. Together with Advantage Financial Services, we sponsored the Kiwanis Club of Kiln Creek’s Pickleball Open, investing in local youth and community service.
    27. We stopped by Dutrow Elementary with a basket of treats to celebrate the amazing work their teachers do.
    28. To continue spreading kindness across our teams, we’ve introduced Core Value Note Cards as a fun and meaningful way to celebrate coworkers who bring our values to life. This simple handwritten‑note initiative helps brighten days and strengthen our culture of appreciation.
    29. We visited Brentwood Pediatrics with a goody basket to show our appreciation for their hardworking nurses. We’re so grateful for all nurses and the care they provide to our community.
    30. For National Crayon Day, we added a splash of color to the day for our youngest members by giving away 120 boxes of crayons and fun coloring sheets.
    31. Delivered items to the residents at Old Dominion Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in hopes of bringing a few extra smiles their way.
    32. We handed out encouragement bags for CNU students with snacks and supplies as a reminder that the community is cheering for them during finals.
    33. Thanks to members who made the switch to e‑Statements in April, 105 trees were planted through One Tree Planted
    34. We supported Magpie & Daisy’s Pet Rescue by sending wish‑list items to help them care for lost and abandoned animals and continue their mission of placing pets in loving homes.
