We want to make you aware of a phone scam that has recently been reported at financial institutions in our area. In these calls, scammers pretend to be from the credit union and may say there is a problem with your debit card or account. They may even know some of your personal information to make the call seem real. Their goal is to scare you into sharing sensitive information or sending money.
Signs a Call May Be a Scam
- The caller says they are from the fraud department or claims to be a fraud officer.
- They tell you there is suspicious activity on your debit card or account.
- They pressure you to stay on the phone and act right away.
- They seem to know personal details about you, such as your address, date of birth, email address, or Social Security number/Tax ID.
- They ask for private information like your PIN, account balance, card number, or online banking login details.
- They tell you to go to a branch or move your money while staying on the phone with them.
What to Do If You Receive a Call Like This
- Hang up if you receive an unexpected call claiming to be from 1st Advantage.
- Do not share personal or account information, including your Social Security number, account number, card details, one-time passcodes, PIN, or online banking credentials.
- Call 1st Advantage directly using a phone number you trust, such as the number on our website, your statement, or the back of your card.
- If you shared any information, please contact us right away so we can help protect your account.

1st Advantage will never call and ask for sensitive information such as your Social Security number, account number, card details, one-time passcodes, online banking credentials, PIN, or account balance.
